REM: Mind's- Eye Me

Rapid-eye movement (REM) is characterized by an increase in neural activity throughout the body, but especially throughout the brain. This activity is highly similar to that when awake. In turn, dreams in REM are highly vivid, random, detailed, and memorable. The self portrait depicts these characteristics through the dream-version of myself which flows into the painted frame to tease the tension between reality and intangible illusion.
